Dr. Bradley P.

Dr. Bradley Powers is passionate about treating vision problems that interfere with children’s ability to read, learn, and pay attention. Some common conditions that he treats are convergence insufficiency, reading difficulties including tracking problems, double vision, lazy eye (amblyopia), and crossed/wandering eyes (strabismus). Dr. Powers also treats vision problems that result from traumatic head injuries, surgeries, or concussions. He provides non-surgical treatment for these conditions through Vision Therapy, a custom program of exercises to strengthen the eyes and brain to eliminate vision problems.

Dr. Powers completed his Doctorate of Optometry at The Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He knew that he wanted to work in the healthcare field because he is passionate about serving others. Optometry was the right fit because he gets to elevate other’s enjoyment of life by providing a clearer view of it. He has gained experience working in various settings including Japan, Florida, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. In addition, he’s worked alongside the special Olympics, low-income schools, low vision clinics, and surgery centers. He strives to become an expert at treating children and helping them to overcome vision-related learning problems that are causing them to struggle in school.

Maci P.

Maci works as our Clinical Director of Eye Associates of Columbia and Eye Associates of Charleston. She is responsible for leading the company and ensuring all employees bolster the company vision. Moreover, she sets the overall strategic direction of the company alongside our team of optometrists. She handles planning and implementing long term business strategies to achieve the company’s objectives.

Eyesight, in many cases, is natural and easy, and therefore, not many typically worry about the care of their eyes until it becomes an issue. Since beginning her work in the optometry field, Maci has seen first-hand how life-changing it can be to experience reduction or loss of vision. She wants to inspire awareness of how valuable our ability to see is and to encourage patients to seek yearly comprehensive eye exams for long term vision!

Kayla

Kayla, a Biology alumna of the University of South Carolina, pursued adventure in the Pacific Northwest shortly after graduating with a move to beautiful Seattle. Since her time at Eye Associates of Columbia, she has gained management experience and enjoys the opportunity to work one on one with all of our customers. She loves the personal interaction she is able to build and has a passion for turning a “one time customer” into a lifelong customer.

When asked for one piece of advice, Kayla insists everyone be vigilant with their yearly eye exams. As your eyes are constantly changing (whether you’re a child, teenager, adult, or elderly), it’s important to monitor your eye health in attempts for early prevention of eye disease.
